Revised Speed Post Tariffs
The Ministry of Communications clarified that tariffs were last revised in 2012. Since then, operational costs have risen, and the service has also invested in new technologies. To sustain improvements, a rational revision has been introduced.
Updated tariff (effective October 1, 2025):
| Weight/Distance | Local | Up to 200 Km | 201–500 Km | 501–1000 Km | 1001–2000 Km | Above 2000 Km |
| Up to 50 grams | 19 | 47 | 47 | 47 | 47 | 47 |

| 251–500 grams | 28 | 70 | 75 | 82 | 86 | 93 |
For comparison, the older tariff (before Oct 1, 2025) for an item up to 50 grams ranged from Rs 15 to Rs 35 depending on distance.
Additional Services and Discounts
- Registration Service: Ensures that items are handed only to the addressee or an authorised person. Cost: Rs 5 per item plus GST.
- OTP-Based Delivery: An additional safeguard requiring OTP confirmation at delivery. Cost: Rs 5 per item plus GST.
