In the last 24 hours, India recorded fresh 35,178 cases and 440 fatalities due to the Coronavirus infection say the Union Health Ministry in its latest announcement. As of 8 am on Wednesday, India’s active Covid-19 case has reached a tally of 3,69,846. However, the active cases declined by 12,101 within 24 hours, according to the health ministry.
The top Indian states with the highest number of registered maximum cases are Kerala (21,613), followed by Maharashtra (4,408), Tamil Nadu (1,804), Karnataka (1,298) and Andhra Pradesh (1,063) cases.

These five states record 85.81 per cent of the new Covid-19 cases. Kerala alone is responsible for 61.44 per cent of the fresh cases. The health ministry noted that the maximum casualties due to the viral infection were reported in Kerala (127) and Maharashtra with 116 daily deaths.

Now, India’s recovery rate has increased to 97.51 per cent. In the last 24 hours, a total of 36,830 patients has been recovered so far. Thus, the count has now pushed the total recoveries to 3,14,48,754 across the country.
According to the Union Health Ministry data, the country has administered 88,13,919 doses within hours. And now, the total tally of doses has reached 55,47,30,609. A total of 17,97,559 samples were tested in the last 24 hours.
