After the announcement that the remaining two ODIs of the series would be played behind closed doors the decision to call off the series has been taken. The ODIs to be played in ‘Lucknow’ and ‘Kolkata’ now stand called off.

The visiting South Africa team would be returning back to their country. This comes after IPL was pushed earlier in the day due to the coronavirus. “With the IPL being postponed, it only made sense that at this point in time, this series is also called off. The country is facing a serious pandemic,” a top BCCI official said. “The South African team will come to Delhi and leave by taking at the earliest available flight,” he added.

The England team on tour of Sri Lanka also called off its tour today and would be returning back home. The Pakistan Super League (PSL) has also rescheduled some of its matches after 10 of the foreign players left the league due to coronavirus threat. However, the ODI series between New Zealand vs Australia saw its 1st match today as scheduled amidst empty stands.
