The lady who captained the national women hockey team to 3 consecutive gold medals is left to face a sorry situation. Waikhom Suraj Lata Devi, former Indian women hockey captain, and the lady who inspired Shahrukh Khan starer movie ‘Chak De India‘ has filed a case of domestic violence.
Devi in a press conference on Wednesday talked about her troubled marriage. She said she was subjected to harassment by her husband right from the time they got married in 2005 and dowry was the main reason.

Devi led India to gold in the 2002 Commonwealth Games (the event which inspired the 2007 Bollywood hit film, Chak De India), the 2003 Afro-Asian Games, and the 2004 Hockey Asia Cup. The hockey player maintained that she had been enduring the harassment in the belief that her husband’s behavior would change.
