As coronavirus pandemic cripples the world and surges the need for medical professionals, Indian British 2019 beauty pageant winner, Bhasha Mukherjee, has decided to offer her talents to fight the pandemic. Miss England 2019 has decided to rejoin her duties as a doctor in the United Kingdom and her help her country fight the virus.
As coronavirus pandemic cripples the world and surges the need for medical professionals, Indian British 2019 beauty pageant winner, Bhasha Mukherjee, has decided to offer her talents to fight the pandemic. Miss England 2019 has decided to rejoin her duties as a doctor in the United Kingdom and her help her country fight the virus.

The 24-year-old lady was a junior doctor before she took a break from her medical duties to participate in the Miss World pageant in December 2019. She now is an ambassador for many charities across the world and has now rejoined her duties as a doctor to help the world fight the pandemic.
She told CNN, “I was invited to Africa, to Turkey, then to India, Pakistan and several other Asian countries to be an ambassador for various charity work.”
Ms. Mukhrjee added that she wasn’t feeling right working for charities when people in her county were dying due to coronavirus. Her colleagues, at the Pilgrim Hospital in the UK, had informed her about the situation.
It was then she decided to rejoin as a doctor. However, she will have to self-isolate herself for 2 weeks before she is allowed to work.
She said, “When you are doing all this humanitarian work abroad, you’re still expected to put the crown on, get ready… look pretty. I wanted to come back home. I wanted to come and go straight to work. I felt a sense of this is what I’d got this degree for and what better time to be part of this particular sector than now. It was incredible the way the whole world was celebrating all key workers, and I wanted to be one of those, and I knew I could help.”

“There’s no better time for me to be Miss England and helping England at a time of need,” she added.
