This year, the Indian Railways plans to launch the Vande Bharat “sleeper trains.” This will probably include beginning service between Secunderabad and Pune as well as providing more facilities for travellers on these trains.
The proposed Vande Bharat sleeper trains will significantly increase the comfort and speed of long-distance travel. These new trains are being manufactured by Bharat Earth Movers Limited (BEML) and the Integral Coach Factory (ICF), according to India.com. The trains are expected to be introduced later this year.
Additionally, these sleeper trains will include contemporary comforts like sensor-based lighting, improved soundproofing, automated doors that interact with one another, and small pantries in every coach. Along with comfortable bunk beds anti-spill washbasins and odour control systems in the restrooms, they will also offer wheelchair-accessible sleepers.
The Vande Bharat trains are a part of Indian Railways’ broader plan to cut travel times and enhance passenger comfort by expanding the number of semi-high-speed train services available across the country.
The introduction of the sleeper train service in Secunderabad is a component of a broader initiative to expand and modernize the Vande Bharat fleet, offering longer-distance passengers a more enjoyable and efficient means of transit.
The Secunderabad-Pune Vande Bharat sleeper might replace the currently operating Shatabdi Express on the same route, which takes around eight hours and twenty-five minutes to complete, with passengers reaching at their destinations at least an hour early.
The railways are still finishing preparations for the much-awaited debut of the Vande Bharat sleeper train, hence the timetable and stops for the Secunderabad-Pune sleeper train are yet to be announced.
Officials claim that the precise schedule and stops for the new service are still up in the air. These will be made available to the public as soon as the program is activated, the authorities stated.
Currently, the following five Vande Bharat trains run under the SCR jurisdiction: Kacheguda – Yesvantpur (Hyderabad – Bengaluru); Secunderabad – Visakhapatnam; Vijayawada – MGR Chennai Central; and Secunderabad – Tirupati. These trains are running well with almost 100% of passengers.
According to earlier reports, the Indian Railways plans to launch the Vande Bharat sleeper trains, which would gradually replace the Rajdhani Express, which is the country’s premier sleeper train, over time.
