Kerala-based Indian Union Muslim League on Thursday has sought the interference of the Supreme Court to put a stay on the highly debated Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). The Union also wants the apex court to stay the ongoing work for the National Population Register (NPR).

In the two applications filed in the Supreme Court, the IUML has asked the court to ask the Government to detail whether it had plans to implement the National Register of Citizens (NRC) across the country. The IUML also wants to understand if there link between the NRC and the population register.
