India’s High-Altitude Trekking Route Near China Border to be Inaugurated by PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Gangotri Mukhba on February 27 to START the winter yatra in Uttarakhand. The PM will set the foundation for the Janaktal and Mulingana Pass hikes when he is there. The Janaktal trek is the second-highest trekking trail in the world. This trip is thought to be a big step in increasing winter travel to the area.

The Janaktal trip is said to be located at a height of more than 17,000 feet. Reaching 17,716 feet above sea level, the 2-kilometre walk from Jadung to Janaktal passes across valleys and mountains. At an elevation of more than 17,000 feet, however, lies the Mulingana hike.

Plans are in motion to encourage adventure tourism in unexplored locations like Nelong, Jadung, and Sonam Valley in advance of the Prime Minister’s visit. Two trekking trips, an ATV-RTV rally, and a motorbike rally are among the activities scheduled to start from Harsil.

The motorbike, ATV, and RTV rally will be led by the Indian Army from Harsil. The Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board (UTDB) will organise a motorcycling rally for Jadung. The Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) will also plan a hiking trip from Neelapani to Mulling La Base. In addition, there will be another trekking expedition from Jadung to Janaktal.

Local officials saw the Prime Minister’s visit to Harsil-Mukhba as a historic chance to boost Uttarakhand’s winter tourist industry. Officials from the local administration have meticulously organised PM Modi’s visit, including his scheduled prayer at the Ganga Temple in Mukhwa.

In order to settle the logistics, including parking, traffic control, seating, electricity, and water supply, officials assessed the Harsil location before the event. The design and setup of an exhibition displaying Uttarakhand’s regional crafts and goods, emphasising the area’s cultural and economic importance, have also been discussed.
