It’s now been over a week since Anti-Hijab protests, which are getting violent day by day, are being demonstrated in Iran over a death of a girl killed in Morality Police custody. The news is verified by the social media posts, which captured the intense situation, shared a few hours after authorities mobilized them.
Iran Anti-Hijab Protests
During these Anti-Hijab, anti-government protests 50 were killed by security forces, asserted to Oslo-based, Iran’s Human Rights organization. This count is way more than the official 17 which includes 5 security personnel.
This violence on the streets of Iran which has been spread to 80 towns and cities, was sparked by the death of a 22 years old girl, Mahsa Amini. Before death, the girl suffered for three days in a coma after being detained by the Morality Police.
“Verified footage spread on social media showed large crowds of protesters gathering in several neighborhoods of the capital Tehran after dark, just hours after the government-backed rallies dispersed.”
Now Iran has imposed strict restrictions on the use of the Internet to prevent crowd gatherings and stop the flow of content which can spark violent incidents. And to also stop the context from reaching other countries.

“The United States announced Friday it was easing export restrictions on Iran to expand internet services, days after SpaceX founder Elon Musk said he would seek an exemption from sanctions to offer his company’s Starlink satellite service in the Islamic republic.”
Antony Blinken, Secretary of State said, “this move will “help counter the Iranian government’s efforts to surveil and censor its citizens”.
“It is clear that the Iranian government is afraid of its people,” he added.
“The great demonstration of the Iranian people condemning the conspirators and the sacrileges against religion took place today”, reported Mehr, Iran’s news agency.
