IRCTC or Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation has announced fresh guidelines to increase passenger convenience. These new rules are imposed because IRCTC cares about their sleeping passengers at night. Many travellers go through a lot when they try to sleep at night because of the disturbances that other passengers create. And if passengers do not follow these rules they will be in trouble.
IRCTC Updates Rules While Travelling At Night
Railways decided these rules last year during which the authority imposed a few sets of rules so that sleeping passengers can get the comfort they pay for. According to the night travelling rules of Railways, the Travel Ticket Examiner (TTE) cannot check your reservation tickets after 10 PM, but it is not applicable to the passengers who are boarding the train after 10 PM. Next, middle berth passengers can sleep after 10 PM till 6 AM in the morning. Lastly, the TTE can allot the seats of non-boarded passengers only after one hour or after passing two stations. There is also one complimentary update from the Railways that other passengers in the compartment or coach cannot play loud music or speak on phone loudly. Complaints will be taken care of seriously if anyone objects to them. Railway has instructed the authorities to respond to the complaints as soon as possible.
These rules will take care of every complainant, especially the senior citizens. These measures are taken by the Railways after getting various complaints from its passengers. They reported several disturbances they suffer during night travel, from people speaking loudly on phone to playing loud music at night. A few complaints were also linked to staff workers.
