IRCTC Issues Alert on Fake Timings & Fare Info for Katra-Srinagar Vande Bharat Launch
The much-awaited Vande Bharat Express to Kashmir is nearly here; however before you prepare your belongings, the Railways have issued the following crucial warning: Watch carefully for false information on social media regarding train schedules and prices.
Railway authorities have verified that the Vande Bharat train, which would travel between Katra (Jammu) and Budgam (Kashmir) with a brief stop at Nowgam station in Srinagar, does not yet have an official itinerary or ticket pricing. Online sharing of such information should not be trusted.
According to Etv Bharat, a senior official said that information on the train’s ticket, schedule, and stops will be released shortly, maybe by April.
Katra-Srinagar Vande Bharat Express: 3.5-Hour Journey to Kashmir
The Vande Bharat Express will now make the trip from Katra to Srinagar in just 3.5 hours, which is a significant improvement over the existing, lengthy road trips. The 272-kilometer Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla railway line, a significant infrastructure undertaking in Jammu and Kashmir, includes the new route.
The grand opening of the Katra-Srinagar Vande Bharat Express is scheduled for April 19.
Trial runs between Katra and Baramulla have previously been successfully conducted by the train. Earlier in January, the service was approved by the Railway Safety Commissioner.
Route and Stations of the Katra-Srinagar Vande Bharat Express
The Vande Bharat Express would not stop at any of the 18 stations between Katra and Srinagar, except Budgam and Nowgam (Srinagar). Reasi, Sangaldan, Banihal, Anantnag, and Pampore are a few of the stations along the route.
Due to ongoing renovations at the Jammu railway station, the train will temporarily depart from Katra. With seven luxury class coaches and one executive class coach, the Vande Bharat Express can accommodate up to 530 people. After the formal announcement, online ticket sales will begin shortly.
