The website of IRCTC (Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation) has crashed down as ticket booking opened 4:00 PM. The Railways yesterday announced that online booking for trains would start online from Monday 4:00 PM on IRCTC’s platform.
IRCTC is the single point source for booking tickets for travelers as no broker or counter sale is allowed. Since 4:00 PM the website started showing loading error and was buffering indefinitely when one clicked in for booking the tickets.

As many as 30 trains – 15 pairs of return trips – will be run by IRCTC from May 12 for which the booking opened today. However, just before anyone could have booked the ticket the website crashed. Meanwhile, the Railways clarified that the charge of the tickets will be premium, which means a ticket will be priced at Rajdhani rates.
In the latest updates, the Railways has said that the website is not crashed rather the data is being uploaded from its side. The Railway ministry also tweeted that the data of special trains are being fed on the website.
The bookings of tickets would start soon said the tweet. Meanwhile, the users were quite furious about such lackluster behavior of acting at the last moment. Here is what they said:
Highly irresponsible of you. Why can’t u let the nation know earlier. U wanted to make fun of stranded people? Very pathetic work by your team. How big is railways. What r babus doing? All this is back end work only.#IRCTC #IndianRailways
