The Indian Space Reserach Organization (ISRO) would send it’s humanoid (something that has an appearance resembling a human without actually being one) before sending astronauts on spaceflight as a part of mission Gaganyaan.
The humanoid named ‘Vyommitra’ would go as a trial to space before Gaganyaan goes with astronauts. The information in this regard was provided by Union minister Jitendra Singh through a tweet.
The minister tweeted, “In the run-up to the first Human Space Mission by India at @isro Vyommitra, the humanoid for #Gaganyaan unveiled. This prototype of humanoid will go as a trial before Gaganyaan goes with Astronauts #ISRO.”
Vyommitra which is a human female look-alike would be placed in the first unmanned mission under ‘Gaganyaan’ and will simulate most of the human body functions. The humanoid would not have legs. The video of the humanoid was also shared by the union minister in his tweet.
While put at display for visitors at an event the humanoid speaks out its function. It says, “Hello everyone. I am Vyommitra. The prototype of the half humanoid being made for the first unmanned Gaganyaan mission. I can monitor few module parameters, alert you, and perform life support operations”.
