A two-day special vacation for state government workers in this state will be the first of its kind.
Family meals and trips, as well as face-to-face interactions were formerly the norm. As time went on, our environment became more dominated by screens and social media. Many of us were preoccupied with juggling job and family obligations while still keeping up with the latest trends on social media. After reading, responding, and seeing, there was a lot more to do! Emails needed to be answered, employers needed to be impressed, and parties needed to be attended. We’d lost sight of the value of spending time together as a family.
With this in mind, the Himanta Biswa Sarma-led administration in Assam declared for the first time a two-day special for state government employees to spend “quality time” with their families. A video message from Himanta Biswa Sarma, the Assam Chief Minister, was posted on Twitter for the benefit of state government workers. In order to spend quality time with their parents or spouses, state government workers will be given two days off on January 6 and 7 of this year.
SPL vacations have been planned for Jan 6 and 7, 2022, for Assamese government workers to spend quality time with their parents/in-laws. ” Himanta Biswa Sarma, the Assam CM, urged his people to “recommit themselves to the cause of constructing a New Assam and a New India with the blessings of their parents.”
As part of his video message, CM Himanta Biswa Sarma encouraged people to use the dedicated link to post photos of themselves having fun with their parents or in-laws. “Spend meaningful time with your spouse’s parents or in-laws by treating them to supper. This holiday has been set aside to allow us to spend time with our spouse’s parents and/or in-laws.
It was welcomed as a “wonderful idea” by many on social media.
