The Election Commission of India has announced the schedule for the election to Jharkhand State Legislative assembly. Election to the 82 seat legislative assembly would begin from 30th November.

The schedule of polling in five phases would be as follows:
- 30th November: 1st Phase
- 7th December: 2nd Phase
- 12th December: 3rd Phase
- 16th December: 4th Phase
- 20th December: 5th Phase
Counting of votes would take place on the 23rd of December. The tenure of the present government led by Raghbur Das would come to an end on January 5, 2020, and the new government has to be formed before that.
