Kanpur’s district administration has banned the sale of golgappas or panipuri in the city on Tuesday citing that the crowd gathering at these stalls could spread coronavirus. The order said that no social distancing was being followed at these stalls by buyers thus the step had to be taken.
According to a report in The Times of India, the district magistrate Dr Brahmadeo Ram Tiwari said there was information that Covid-19 safety guidelines were not being adhered to after the relaxation of restrictions under Unlock 1.0.
