After the trailer release of Karan Johar’s Jug Jugg Jeeyo on May 22, the movie has created a lot of sensation among viewers. However, the events have taken a turning point, and now the movie is part of a new controversy. Vishal A Singh, a writer, has accused Karan Johar’s Dharma Production of copying his script for their upcoming movie Jug Jugg Jeeyo.
His script was titled Bunny Rani, and he accused Dharma Production of using it to create Jug Jugg Jeeyo without informing him.
Complaint Of Karan Johar on Twitter
Vishal took the matter on Twitter and showed his evidence to all the users in the form of screenshots. He explained the matter to all the users that previously in order to work with Dharma Production he had mailed his excerpts of the script to them, but they have created a movie out of his script without his knowledge.
Karan Johar’s Movie In Trouble
Just after the release of the trailer of Jug Jugg Jeeyo the movie is now in trouble and making headlines. A writer named Vishal A Singh has alleged that Dharma Production has utilised his script titled Bunny Rani without his consent to produce their latest film Jug Jugg Jeeyo. He explained that he had e-mailed the excerpts of his scripts to the production house and did receive a response.
The writer shared a series of tweets and one of his tweets says, “Had registered a story.. #BunnyRani with @swaindiaorg in January 2020. I had officially mailed @DharmaMovies in February 2020 for an opportunity to co-produce with them. I even got a reply from them. And they have taken my story.. and made #JugJuggJeeyo. Not fair @karanjohar (sic).”
Writer Shared Screenshots of His Email
Vishal further shared screenshots of his email to Dharma Production to prove his point and stated that he will file an official complaint against the production house.
His next tweet says, “Screenshot of my mail to @DharmaMovies dated 17.02.2020. An official complaint will follow (sic)”.
Singh also mentioned that these incidents are becoming very common in the Hindi film industry where the scripts are being used without the consent of the writer. He said, “Am aware that what happened with me is happening in the #HindiCinema industry all the time. That doesn’t mean… I should shut up? I have chosen to raise the flag coz I want this malpractice to stop. This can’t go on forever. BunnyRani #JugJuggJeeyo (sic).”
Finalising his tweet thread Singh wrote, “If what am saying is wrong.. @DharmaMovies should act strongly against me? And if am right.. #Dharma and @karanjohar should start the #TruthAndReconciliation process. If #HindiCinema has to prosper.. serious issues can never operate in the grey zone? What do you think (sic).”
Till no response has been recorded from Karan Johar or his team.
Movie Jug Jugg Jeeyo
The latest movie Jug Jugg Jeeyo is directed by Raj Mehta and it is combinedly backed by Dharma Production and Viacom18 Studios. The film features an entertaining cast which includes “Varun Dhawan, Kiara Advani, Anil Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor, Maniesh Paul and Prajakta Koli.”
