Delhi Police has issued traffic advice for all residents of Delhi, informing them of the routes to avoid in the national capital today, in light of the Republic Day parade rehearsal on January 10.
According to Delhi Police’s caution, there will be traffic disruptions on several roads around the capital on Wednesday, particularly in central Delhi. On January 10, there will be a traffic restriction across Delhi from 7 am to 11:30 am per the advice.
The Delhi Police issued an advice on Wednesday, advising people to stay away from Vijay Chowk, the Rafi Marg-Kartavyapath crossing, the Janpath-Kartavyapath junction, and Man Singh Road-Kartavyapath between 7 and 11.30 a.m.
“Due to Republic Day Parade rehearsal, kindly avoid Vijay Chowk, Rafi Marg-Kartavyapath crossing, Janpath- Kartavyapath crossing, and Man Singh Road- Kartavyapath crossing from 0700 Hrs to 1130 Hrs on 10-01-2024,” the Delhi Police said in a statement.
For the sixth time, a French President has been invited as the major guest of the Republic Day celebrations in Delhi, and this year’s 75th Republic Day Parade will feature French President Emmanuel Macron as the special guest.
Details of the Republic Day Parade
An Indian Air Force official said on Monday that female Agniveer Vayu soldiers will be participating in the Republic Day Parade as part of the IAF contingent this year. Additionally, there will be two all-female defence force delegations participating in this year’s Republic Day Parade.
Defence authorities said, “One contingent, comprising 144 personnel, would have all women soldiers, including 60 from the Army and the remaining from the Indian Air Force and Indian Navy.”
Republic Day 2024’s theme this year is “Viksit Bharat” and “India – Mother of Democracy.” Several heads of state, foreign dignitaries, President Droupadi Murmu, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be present during the ceremonies.
