Coronavirus has changed our lives, our travel plans, our cooking skills and whatnot? And besides everything else, it has also changed businesses and now is prompting them to change their taglines too.
Kentucky Fried Chicken aka KFC is the recent one to adapt to the new normal in business amidst the pandemic. The veteran brand has decided to temporarily give up its 64-year-old business tagline, Finger Lickin Good just because it’s not safe in today’s world.

The announcement was made KFC’s social media as well as in an official statement on the fast-food giant’s website. The company said that touching the face is an activity better avoided as of now – which is why KFC’s removal of the slogan is a welcome move.
And now, the job on its hand would be to get itself a brand new slogan that could match the perfect slogan that “Finger Lickin Good” was.
Catherine Tan-Gillespie, global chief marketing officer at KFC, said in a statement, “We find ourselves in a unique situation-having an iconic slogan that doesn’t quite fit in the current environment. While we are pausing the use of “It’s Finger Lickin’ Good”, rest assured the food craved by so many people around the world isn’t changing one bit.”
KFC followed up the statement with a YouTube video that had the words “Finger Lickin'” blurred in every frame. The suspension, however, is temporary and the slogan would come back when the time is right.
