e-SHRAM is developed for the welfare of hundreds-thousands of unorganized workers of the country. In order to extend the welfare of such workers of the country, e-SHRAM portal seeded will be enrooted with their Aadhaar cards.
The Labour Shramik Card will include details like name, address, educational qualification, occupation, skill types, family details, etc. for the best possible realization of their employability and maximize the social security scheme benefits. It is the first national database of unorganized workers, including construction workers, migrant workers, platform workers, gig, and others.
EPFO tweeted, “In times of any national crisis like COVID-19, financial help through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) will be transferred directly in the bank account of the Unorganised Worker, registered on e-SHRAM Portal.”
All registered unorganized workers will get accidental insurance coverage through Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY) for a year. Also, it will be quite helpful for the State as well as the Central Government to provide help to eligible unorganized workers in case of any calamities and/or pandemics. The registration process has already started on 26th August 2021.

There are nearly 30 crore unorganized workers in India. Out of these, many are bidi workers, shoe polish workers, agriculture workers, milkmen, construction workers, street vendors, etc. Interesting workers can now self-register on eshram.gov.in with the following requirements.

How To Apply For e-SHRAM Card Self Registration?
UAN e-shram can be availed by those working in an unorganized sector. Workers interested can apply for e-shram card self-registration with the below steps.
Step 1: Visit the official web portal eshram.gov.in.
Step 2: Open the registration link
Step 3: Now, a new page will be open
Step 4: A new page will display certain details that you need to fill
Step 5: Enter those details correctly and complete the registration process.
Step 6: After this, you will get an OTP
Step 7: Proceed with the registration and save the message once you successfully submitted the application form
