Petrol And Diesel Prices
The latest fuel rates are announced and for the 13th consecutive day, there has been no change in them. The latest petrol prices are retaining at ₹105.41 a litre in Delhi & ₹120.51 per litre in Mumbai city. On the other hand, diesel is being sold for ₹96.67 a litre in the national capital and ₹104.77 per litre in Mumbai. In Kolkata, petrol is retailing for ₹115.12 and diesel costs ₹99.83 per litre. The retail price in Chennai for petrol is ₹110.85 a litre and diesel is ₹100.94 per litre.
Series Of Hikes In Fuel Rates
Different tax slabs in several states are the reason for the variations in petrol and diesel prices across India. Fuel rates in our country vary daily depending upon the rates of crude oil in the International Market and foreign exchange instabilities. OMCs (Oil Marketing Companies) were keen to increase the fuel prices to cope with the rates in the international market. But instead, they held the revision for four months from November last year. After the results were announced for election in four states the fuel rates were hiked for the first time on March 22, 2022. Since then the fuel rates have been increased to ₹10 per litre with the support of multiple hikes.
Current Market Conditions
Petrol and Diesel prices are at peak levels. Today even the most affordable price of petrol is ₹91.45 per litre being sold in Port Blair and on the other hand highest petrol price in the country is ₹123.47 per litre in Parbhani, Maharashtra. In Chittoor, Andhra Pradesh the diesel price touched ₹107.68 a litre.

Through the SMS facility provided by OMCs in India, you can check the fuel rates daily for your city. Customers of Indian Oil (IOC) can send “RSP to 9224992249” and HPCL consumers can send “HPPRICE to number 9222201122” to check fuel rates. Meanwhile, BPCL consumers can send “RSP to 9223112222” to get updated fuel rates.
