Google Maps offers a life-saving feature by adding speed limit alarms. With the help of speed limit alarms in Google Maps, the users will now get warned if they cross the speed limit of the roads. It advises users to check their speed on the car’s speedometer. However, the speedometer in Google Maps is for informational use only and users should not completely rely on it.
On Google Maps, the speed limit is displayed on the bottom left corner while navigating, just above the ETA. The on-screen speedometer was available to users in 2019. Previously, this feature was only available for selected users in Europe, Asia, UK, the US, and South America. Later on, an on-screen speedometer was made available for users across the world. Including this, Google also shows the speed limits of a particular area. However, the speed limit function is still not available in all regions.
