August has almost ended now, and we will live in September very soon. As so you should know that the banks are going to be closed for many days in September as they had in August. Any major banking task that you have pending should be planned according to the off days, mentioned by RBI in its holiday list.
Bank Holidays Depending Upon Different States
As per the list of bank holidays in India provided by RBI, there are a total number of 8 holidays in September. Moreover, there are additional 6 days off on Saturday and Sunday. According to the list, the banks will be closed for 13 days in the whole month in total. But a bank holiday in your region depends upon the State in which you live. RBI has sorted these holidays under three categories, “Holiday under Negotiable Instruments Act, Holiday under Negotiable Instruments Act and Real Time Gross Settlement Holiday and Banks’ Closing of Accounts.”
