So, losing your Aadhaar Card can become a troublesome situation. You should take the necessary steps to either retrieve it or get a new one.
Using UIDAI Self-Service Portal to Get a New Aadhaar Card
UIDAI’s self-service portal enables you to get a second copy of your original card in case you have lost or misplaced it. To get it you will need to feed your details like name, date of birth, 12-digit enrollment number, etc. Follow these steps to download your ID using this portal:
- First, visit the official portal with this link.
- Then click the ‘Retrieve Lost or Forgotten UID/EID’ option.
- Next, select the right option to retrieve either the enrollment number or Aadhaar Number.
- Now, provide your details like name, address, registered number etc.
- Then, enter the security code that you see on the screen.
- Click on the ‘Get One Time Password’ option.
- Now, enter the OTP that you will receive on your registered mobile number.
- After that, you will receive your Aadhaar or enrollment number on your mobile.
- Now go to the official portal again and this time click on Download Aadhaar.
- Enter your details which are asked mandatorily.
- Complete the OTP verification.
- And you are ready to download your Aadhaar Card copy.

Getting Aadhaar Card at Aadhaar Enrollment Center
If you are not able to use the above online method to get the second copy of your Aadhaar then you can also visit the Aadhaar Enrollment Center to get it. Follow these steps:
- First, reach the nearest Aadhaar Enrollment Center.
- Ask for an Aadhaar correction form and fill it out and ask for documents from the executive present there.
- Then submit the form along with the applicable fee.
- You will get an acknowledgement slip and enrollment number to track the status.
