If Your Mobile Number Is Linked
If your mobile number is already linked to your Aadhaar, retrieving your details is quick and easy. Just follow these steps:
- Visit the official UIDAI website.
- Click on the option to retrieve your lost Aadhaar number or Enrolment ID.
- Choose whether you need your Aadhaar number or your Enrolment ID.
- Enter your full name as it appears on your Aadhaar card, along with your registered mobile number or email address.
- Type in the captcha code shown on the screen.
- You’ll receive an OTP on your mobile or email. Enter this OTP to verify your identity.
- After successful verification, your Aadhaar number or Enrolment ID will be sent to your registered mobile via SMS.
- This service is completely free.
If Your Mobile Number Is Not Linked
If your mobile number is not linked to your Aadhaar, you still have options to recover your details. Here’s what you can do:
Option 1: Visit an Aadhaar Enrolment Centre
- Go to any Aadhaar enrolment or update centre near you.
- Provide your name, gender, district or PIN code, and any other details you remember.
- You’ll be asked to verify your identity using your fingerprint or iris scan.
- Once your details are matched, the operator will print an e-Aadhaar letter for you.
- A small fee of Rs 30 may be charged for this service.
Option 2: Call the UIDAI Helpline
- Dial 1947 and speak to a customer service executive.
- Provide your personal details as requested.
- If your details match, the executive will share your Enrolment ID (EID) with you.
- Call 1947 again and use the IVRS system.
- Select the option for checking your request status.
- Enter your Enrolment ID, date of birth, and PIN code.
- If your details are verified, your Aadhaar number will be shared with you.
- This process is also free of charge.
What If You’ve Lost Your Aadhaar Letter?
