WhatsApp Running Cashback Campaign
A confirmation has been reported by the Meta-Owned Instant messaging app ‘WhatsApp’, that it is driving a lucrative cashback campaign in India to lure as many users as it can to use its digital payment services.
WhatsApp Payments is giving away ₹11 cashback three times to a user for sending three payments to distinct contacts through its UPI payment system. A spokesperson from the company said to IANS, “We are running a campaign offering cashback incentives in a phased manner to our users as a way to unlock the potential of payments on WhatsApp.”
The person added, “We’ll continue to drive awareness of payments on WhatsApp as part of our broader efforts to bring the next 500 million Indians onto the digital payments ecosystem.”
Eligibility For Cashback
As per WhatsApp sender and receiver both got to be eligible to avail of cashback. This means if you become eligible for this, then you will see a banner or gift icon while sending payment through UPI to an eligible beneficiary.
The company said, “Once selected, you can send money to any of your registered WhatsApp contacts and receive Rs 11 cashback per successful transaction.”
Google, Paytm Enters The Competition
To drive more users to utilise their UPI payment system Google and Paytm have also offered eye-catching cashback offers. Each of them is trying to gather more engagement and transactions on their respective platforms.

Cashback Details By WhatsApp
Company has made it clear on its support page, that cashback is only available, if the payment is made through entering a UPI ID or by sending payment to third party apps or on collect request. QR code payments are not eligible to avail of the offer.
This month National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) has asserted that another 60 million users have joined WhatsApp Payments family, which has increased its total users to 100 million.
Director-Payments of WhatsApp India, Manesh Mahatme said to IANS, “We believe there is an opportunity for UPI to have an even greater impact for the country — especially in rural regions where digital and financial inclusion can significantly improve people’s lives.”
