Indians on a bright Saturday (Nov 23) got up to their respective newspapers only to realize that the front-page headlines were already old news.
In a nutshell, most of the newspapers carried the front-page headline that Uddhav Thackeray of the Shiv Sena was expected to be sworn in as Maharashtra’s chief minister.
However, the Bhartiya Janta Party pulled off an overnight coup at midnight of Friday and announced a government with Devendra Fadnavis as the Chief Minister of Maharastra and Ajit Pawar as the Deputy Chief Minister of the Nationalist Congress Party.
Thereafter, jokes were on newspapers and their headlines. Obviously.
Nevertheless, to make up for the blunder, Sunday’s newspapers saw some inspired headlines for everything that has been going in Maharastra. Have a look and get roffling.
