The situation in Maharashtra is quite bad as far as the COVID-19 pandemic is concerned. The state has been the epicenter of India’s coronavirus outbreak. Late on Thursday, the situation turned worse when the state Housing Minister tested positive.
The 54-year-old Housing Minister Jitendra Ahwad tested positive. He was admitted to a private hospital in Thane for a precautionary check-up. The minister was under quarantine along with 15 members of his family for a week It was done because some of his security staff had tested positive for coronavirus.

It is believed that the minister came in contact with the virus after meeting a police officer, who later tested positive. This news comes when the state has witnessed 283 out of the total 725 deaths in the country. Cases in Maharashtra are also not going down. The state is closing in on 6, 500 cases.
