Major Traffic Impact in Greater Noida as PM Modi Launches UP International Trade Show 2025

Greater Noida is gearing up for significant traffic slowdown today with the inauguration of the UP International Trade Show (UPITS) 2025, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The five-day event, running from September 25 to 29 at the India Expo Centre & Mart, promises to attract top business figures worldwide, with Russia as the partner country for this edition.

What to Expect and Traffic Guidelines

This flagship trade show represents Uttar Pradesh’s industrial growth and serves as a vital platform for startups, exporters, and entrepreneurs to forge new business partnerships and explore trade opportunities. The event’s high-profile inauguration, attended by PM Modi, UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, and other dignitaries, is anticipated to bring in large crowds, leading to traffic restrictions and congestion around the venue.

Authorities have issued a detailed traffic advisory for commuters:

  • VIPs will access through Gate 1, with parking at Stellar Gymkhana.
  • General visitors should use Gates 3 to 6 for drop-off and park near NASA roundabout, which accommodates thousands of vehicles.
  • Media personnel holding ‘P’ passes will enter via Gate 5.
  • International delegates will have designated drop-off and parking areas near Gates 1 and 2.
  • Vehicles approaching from Expo Mart should use Gates 1 or 2, while others should follow specified routes for drop-offs and parking.

For smooth travel, officials recommend using metro services, planning trips ahead, and allowing extra time for delays. A traffic helpline (9971009001) has been set up for assistance.

Why the Restrictions?

The traffic limitations are necessary due to the event’s scale and VIP attendance. The UP International Trade Show aligns with India’s key economic initiatives such as Make in India, Vocal for Local, and Aatmanirbhar Bharat, showcasing innovations in manufacturing, technology, handicrafts, and agriculture. With Russia as a partner country, it also underscores international trade ties.

Locals and visitors are advised to avoid roads near the expo center, especially around Gates 1 to 6 and the NASA and Bada roundabouts, where heavy traffic is expected. Following the advisory will help prevent major travel disruptions during one of Greater Noida’s busiest days this year.
