In an unconventional type of an incident, a man from Andhra Pradesh died of cardiac arrest while he was standing in a queue to purchase onions at subsidized rates. The 65-year-old man is identified as Sambi Reddy.

As per reports, Reddy was waiting in the serpentine queue at Gudiwada Rythu Bazar to buy the subsidized onions which are being sold by the government for Rs 25/Kg when he got the heart-attack.

The prices of onions have sky-rocketed across India with the bulb crossing the mark of 150/kg and moving close to 200/kg. The government has called for imports to bridge the demand-supply gap.
