The very human tendency of going for things that are ‘not allowed’ is creating problems amidst the COVID-19 crisis. A 24 years old man who was quarantined escaped it to meet his girlfriend.
The incident is reported from Tamil Nadu’s Madurai district. The man recently returned from Dubai and was lodged at an isolation facility in the district. After escaping he traveled over 40 km to reach his girlfriend’s house in Sivaganga district. In police interrogation, the man said the girl’s parents were against their relationship and hence he escaped to meet his girlfriend.
He is now booked by the police for flouting quarantine norms. Meanwhile, his girlfriend is sent under isolation as she met him. Cases of violation of ‘lockdown’ and ‘quarantine norms’ have been seen quite commonly by the people. This has made the police forces on the ground to go stricter.
