If you have been with us for a while, you must be aware of the story we did where we described how as per Mayan Calendar, the world is supposed to end on 21st June 2020.
For the unknown, the Mayan calendar is the same calendar that said that the world will end in 2012. The experts, however, found out that people back then had read the calendar wrong.
In simple words, we may be living in 2020 right now, but as per Mayan Calendar, we are still in 2012. Scientist Paolo Tagalogun issued a series of tweets, which have since been deleted, saying that using the “Mayan Calendar” technically has the world in 2012 at the moment.
“Following the Julian Calendar, we are technically in 2012 … The number of days lost in a year due to the shift into Gregorian Calendar is 11 days… For 268 years using the Gregorian Calendar (1752-2020) times 11 days = 2,948 days. 2,948 days/365 days (per year) = 8 years,” Tagaloguin said via Twitter.
So with that logic, the world should have ended yesterday and the fact that it didn’t has got netizens pissed.
