Carrying on his good run with the bat Indian opener Mayank Agarwal scored his 2nd test ton in only his 8th test on Friday. In reply to Bangladesh’s 150 all-out India looked shaky at 14/1 losing Rohit Sharma early.

However, after the fall of Rohit, Mayank stiched partnership with Cheteshwar Pujara and then Ajinkya Rahane (Kholi was dismissed for a duck in between) to ensure that India stays in command on Day 2. He along with Pujara put up 91 runs for 2nd wicket. After the fall of Kohli for duck, Mayank stood with Rahane for a 190 run stand.

Pujara made 54 while Rahane fell 14 short of his test ton. Mayank scored his 150 by hitting a boundary of Taijul Islam in the 77th over of the Indian innings and brought up his double in style with a six off the bowling of Mehidy Hasan. Mayank now has two double hundreds, three hundreds and three fifties in 8 tests and 12 innings.
Mayank was eventually dismissed by Hasan for a score of 243. Abu Jayed was the pick of the Bangladeshi bowlers with four wickets to his name including that of skipper Kholi for a duck.

India’s lead went well past 250 with Bangladesh bowlers crying for mercy. India is now in full command of the test match and would look for an innings win by posting a big total. Jadeja and Saha are on the crease with the former nearing another test fifty.
