In the wake of the same, Delhi goverement has also announced the closure of the Metro service across the UT on Sunday. “The move is aimed at encouraging public to stay indoors and maintain social distancing…which is essential in the fight against Covid-19,” DMRC tweeted.
For the unknown, while addressing the nation on Thursday, the PM urged the citizens on the country to follow Janta Curfew, on Sunday, March 22, 2020. Janta Curfew, as per PM Modi, would be successful if everyone in the country, starting from 7 A.M. in the morning to 9 P.M. on March 22, stay at their respective homes distancing themselves from the world.

Health Ministry on Friday said that practicing curfew for a single day can help a lot in breaking the chain of virus spread in India, which could shot up in no time. Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal on Friday also announced the shut down of all the malls in the Capital with immediate effect.
Politicians, including Mamata Banerjee, have also come out in support of the PM’s Janat Curfew initiative and asked the citizens to adhere to the same, and play a role in making it a success.
Maharashtra Closure
Meanwhile, Maharashtra, which is the most hard-hit state by the presence of coronavirus in India has announced the closure of all offices and shops in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, Pune, Pimpri-Chinchwad, Nagpur till March 31.
“This is not a holiday, avoid crowding. Banks will remain open in the state,” CM Thackeray said as coronavirus cases in the state crossed 50 infected mark.

India has recorded over 200 cases of cornavirus so far. The death toll due to coronavirus stands at five with a new casualty reported from Rajasthan on Sunday.
