Monsoon Live Updates: Light Rainfall In Uttar Pradesh And Haryana Says IMD; Might Be Heavy Downpours In West Bengal

Since Tuesday, Delhi is experiencing low rainfall. Now, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted that Haryana and Uttar Pradesh might shower in a light downpour on Thursday. The weather forecasting department has also predicted heavy downpours in West Bengal.

The IMD has warned the following areas like South 24 Parganas, North 24 Parganas, Paschim Medinipur, Purba Bardhaman, Purba Medinipur, Howrah, Paschim Bardhaman, and Hooghly for heavy rainfall. Also, places like Bankura, Birbhum, Purulia, and Jhargram districts might experience intense rainfall, states the official weather report.

Yellow Warning Issues In West Bengal

In West Bengal, a yellow warning has been issued for East and West Midnapore. The South 24 Parganas expecting to receive 7 to 11 cms of rainfall at some places. Yesterday, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee visited flood-affected areas of Howrah and interacted with the residents.

The West Bengal CM also spoke to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and discussed the flood-related situation in the state. The official handle of the Prime Minister’s Office tweet reads, “PM Narendra Modi spoke to WB CM Mamata Banerjee on the flood situation caused by water discharge from dams in parts of the state. PM assured all possible support from the Centre to help mitigate the situation. PM Modi prays for the safety and wellbeing of those in affected areas.
