The movie stars Ajay Devgan in the role of Tanhaji Malsuare who was a military leader in the Maratha Empire and fought alongside Maratha King Shivaji in various battles. Saif is seen playing his opposite as Udaybhan Rathore.
Ajay’s real-life partner Kajol is essaying the character of Tanhaji’s wife Savitribai Malusare in the movie. The plot of the movie is based on the Battle of Sinhagad where Maratha captured the Kondhana fort from Mughals

The movie is praised for his visual effects which become more defined when watched in 3-D. Overall the movie has much to offer to the viewers in its 134 minutes run and looks technically sound.
