The prestigious Mumbai University has come to limelight with its announcement of dress code for the convocation day. The university has announced Shivkalin angrakha and a red headgear as the official dress code for the faculty.

Ditching the idea of usual black robe that’s worn during the convocation ceremony the University decided to go traditional and opted for the outfit worn by Maratha warrior Shivaji Bhonsle. Little did they know that it would become the center of jokes on social media.

As soon as the University released the picture of official outfit memes started to come in. The looks were compared with Ranveer Singh’s attire as Baji Rao, Raja Ram Mohan Roy and even with Hogwarts.

The university, however, has announced that male students can wear sadara pyajamas and females can wear a saree or a salwar kameez with a dupatta.
