The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has rolled out a new feature called the Journey Planner on the Namo Bharat App, aiming to simplify travel for daily commuters. This new tool offers a one-stop solution for planning entire journeys across both the Namo Bharat and Metro networks.
With the Journey Planner, users can map out their complete trip—from the starting point to the destination—within a single app. The planner recommends the most efficient routes, highlights the fastest travel options, provides estimated journey durations, and suggests necessary interchanges. It also includes first and last-mile connectivity choices, ensuring a smoother travel experience.
A key highlight of this feature is its integrated ticket booking system, allowing users to book rides for both Namo Bharat and the Delhi Metro without needing to switch between different platforms. This not only simplifies the ticketing process but also reduces wait times and improves travel efficiency through smart route planning.
The app further enhances the commuter experience with real-time updates. The Live Train Tracking feature provides users with current train locations, the distance from the next station, and estimated arrival times within a 30-minute window—helping passengers time their journeys with greater accuracy.
Additionally, the Live Parking Status tool informs users about parking availability at Namo Bharat stations in real time, so they can plan their station arrival accordingly. The app also supports a variety of last-mile options, including feeder buses, bicycles, autos, and cab services, creating a comprehensive digital ecosystem for urban transit users.
