A new feature has been launched on the Namo Bharat Connect app, simplifying travel for passengers who use both the Namo Bharat train and metro services. With this update, commuters can now plan their entire journey and purchase tickets for both transportation modes through a single platform.
The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has introduced a Journey Planner within the app. This tool helps passengers map out their route by simply entering their starting point and destination. For instance, a commuter traveling from Meerut South to Rajiv Chowk in Delhi will be guided to take the Namo Bharat train to Anand Vihar, and from there, transfer to the Delhi Metro’s Blue Line to reach Rajiv Chowk.
What makes this feature even more convenient is the ability to generate separate QR code tickets for both Namo Bharat and metro journeys in a single transaction. Previously, travelers had to switch between platforms and make separate payments to book these tickets.
The app not only suggests the fastest and most efficient route between two points, but also provides an estimated travel time and necessary interchanges. This makes journey planning smoother and more time-efficient.
To enhance user convenience, multiple payment options are available, including UPI, debit/credit cards, and internet banking. Commuters can view the total fare for the combined journey directly within the app before completing the payment.
