In the quest to search life beyond earth NASA has discovered a potential ‘habitable zone’ that is sized like earth. NASA’s Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite commonly known as TESS has located this planet.
Named as ” TOI 700 d ” the planet is found to be just 100 light-years away from Earth and is slightly larger than Earth in size. The presence of the planet inside the ‘habitable zone’ and hopes of the presence of liquid has made it a potential site for humans to settle in the future.

The announcement of its finding was made by NASA during the annual American Astronomical Society meeting in Honolulu, Hawaii. The alien-hunting found three planets with only “TOI 700 d” inside the habitable zone, where the temperature would allow for liquid water to exist on its surface.
