In a disheartening story of a talented sportsperson, Bihar’s Gopal Yadav a National level swimmer is forced to sell tea to make a living. Yadav who has won several medals through his performance in the water sport is running a tea stall Patna.

He says that he applied for jobs based on his sports merits but was dejected as everyone asked for a bribe. Yadav further adds that he has 2 sons who are good swimmers but they have given up on the sport seeing his condition.

The issue highlights the plea of talented sportspersons in India who are seen lost in the web of a corrupt administration and excessive focus on a single sport (Cricket).
