Nearly 40 Percent Jump In Daily COVID Cases, Crosses 5,000 Mark

On Wednesday, the country witnessed a sudden boost of 40 per cent in daily COVID cases due to which the 5,000 mark has been crossed in India. 5,223 new COVID cases have been reported in the last 24 hours. Since the start of March, this is the first time the figure for new infection cases crossed 5K. Whereas on Monday, 4,518 new infectious cases were reported in the country.

32,000 fresh covid cases are recorded so far in the month of June. And now in the last 24 hours, fresh Covid-19 cases have risen by 1,881 new cases as per the data of the Health Ministry, with active cases recorded at 28,857.

As per Government data, there were seven deaths reported in the last 24 hours, taking the total fatality figure to 5,24,715. Currently, 4,26,36,710 is the latest figure for the total number of recoveries in the nation. The recovery rate currently stands at 98.72 per cent with over 3,300 people recovering during the last 24 hours.

Maharashtra has recorded a slight increase in the fresh covid cases as 1,881 new cases have emerged in the last 24 hours as compared to the previous 1,036 cases a day before, as reported by the state health department. In this state, Mumbai alone has recorded 1,242 fresh cases against the previous 676 a day before.

Delhi & Other States

As per the data reported by the Health Department, on Tuesday, Delhi recorded one death and 450 fresh cases, and the recovery rate also declined by 1.92 per cent. In Tamil Nadu, 144 fresh cases were reported, 61 new cases in Bengal, and Gujarat recorded 72 new cases in the last 24 hours. As per PTI, 62 fresh infectious cases were reported by Goa on Tuesday.
