The entities who can opt for PAN authentication includes banks, insurance web aggregators, insurance companies, income tax projects, credit information companies approved by RBI, commercial tax departments, GST networks, etc.

Before proceeding with the verification process, ensure you have the following information.

- Instrument number
- Contact details
- Name of the certifying authority
- Class of the Digital Signature Authority

Types Of Online PAN Verification And Steps For Verification
1. Screen-Based PAN Card Verification
Firstly, log in to the official website. After this, the applicant can complete up to five PAN’s in the given screen and click on the submit it.
Now, the PAN details will be shown as a result.
2. File-Based PAN Card Verification
Log in to the official website first.
Then, upload a file up to 1000 NSDL e-government specified PANs.
Now, click on the “submit” button.
After, the PANs’ information will be provided within 24 hours of submission. Also, the rejection message is sent to the registered phone number, in case the format of the uploaded file is incorrect.
3. Software (API) Based PAN Verification
This is another form of online PAN card verification facility that permit the PAN cardholders to verify the PAN through a software application.
