In an attempt to gain more subscribers on its platform Netflix announced price cuts. It has been most expensive streaming service in India.
Monika Shergill, VP Content, Netflix India said “The new price plans are in line with our strategy to provide content that goes deeper into the country and aims to reach wider audiences”

Under new pricing strategy, basic plan of Netflix will cost its user Rs 199 per month which earlier was Rs 499. It supports mobile, tablet, TV or a computer with stream quality of 480p resolution. Access to account can be only done by one device at one time.
Mobile plan of Netflix will cost Rs 149 per month which earlier was Rs 199. It supports either a mobile or a tablet with stream quality of 480p resolution. At one time only one device can access the account.
Standard plan of Netflix will cost Rs 499 per month which earlier was Rs 649. It supports mobile, tablet, TV or a computer and screen limit is two. Stream quality of 1080p resolution is provided.
The most expensive Netflix plan used to cost Rs 799 per month for users; has been now reduced to Rs 649 per month. It supports all the devices and account can be accessed on four screens with 4K resolution.
The rates have come into effect from December 14, Tuesday.
The existing subscribers will be given with an option to get an upgrade to a plan with better benefits or they can choose from any other plan before their next billing cycle.
