A new change requires that all workers who retire from government departments to complete pension form 6-A to get their pension. The only online methods to complete this form are through the e-HRMS 2.0 portal or Bhavishya.
On November 6, 2024, the new pension processes rule went into force. The Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Government of India’s Pension and Pensioners Welfare Department, said in a notification that hard copies of applications filed by workers leaving from government service would no longer be accepted.
Previously done on paper, pension application forms are now required to be submitted online by personnel departing from central government positions. A significant effort to automate government procedures includes this new regulation.
What is Pension Form 6-A?
For the convenience of retiring employees, a streamlined pension form 6A has been created, combining Forms Six, Eight, Four, Three, A, Format 1, Format 9, FMA, and Zero Option Form. This has been accomplished by amending CCS pension regulations 53, 57, 58, 59, and 60.
The Department of Expenditure, the Department of Law and Justice, the Controller General of Accounts, the Comptroller and Auditor General of India, and the Department of Personnel and Training have all advised that this revision be announced.
What Is e-HRMS Portal?
The ‘Bhavishya’ or e-HRMS site now includes this pension form 6A for workers leaving central government positions. The Department of Pension and Pensioners Welfare is the one behind the ‘Bhavishya’ portal. In accordance with this, attempts are being made to guarantee that all outstanding payments and pension payment orders be given to retiring government personnel on their actual day of retirement.
Government To Train Employees
Since November 16, employees departing from central government jobs have had access to it. On November 4, 2024, a notice was sent out on this. The purpose of these online portals is to streamline and simplify the pension application procedure. The relevant authorities will get training as part of this transition to ensure the smooth operation of the pension process.
Office heads and nodal officials will benefit from these training sessions by learning how to operate the new system. Soon, the training curriculum will be accessible. All government ministries and departments have been directed to make sure that all workers are aware of this new regulation and that they all follow the updated procedure for filing pension claims.
