While most of the states have made ‘wearing masks‘ compulsory for movements outside people are not adhering to the directive. Taking that into consideration and the health of its employees All India Petroleum Dealers Association has taken a positive step ahead.
The association has decided not to sell fuel to customers who come without wearing masks. “To ensure the safety of our staffers, we decided yesterday not to sell fuel to those not wearing face masks at fuel retail outlets across India in view of CoronavirusPandemic“, said President of the association, Ajay Bansal.
Petrol pumps being ‘essential services’ are operating 24×7 across the country even amidst the lockdown. Through this move, the association aims to compel people to wear masks. Wearing masks or covering the face has been effective in preventing the spread of COVID-19.
As a result of lockdown and closure, the sales of fuel has gone down. The petrol pumps are selling only 10% fuel of what they used to sell in normal days. The industry is witnessing a 90% deficit. The only positive tough is that global oil prices have fallen.
