In its meeting on Wednesday Union Cabinet headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi cleared the way for the establishment of gas grids in 8 states of the Northeast. The measure is expected to benefit the states that are seen lacking due to want of necessary infrastructure.
Apart from this the cabinet also took other major decisions during yesterday’s meeting. The decision to disinvest Nilanchal Ispat Nigam Limited (NINL) was also finalized in today’s meeting.

In other decision approval on the agreement on energy with England for railways, and granting the Institute of Importance status to Ayurveda Institute in Jamnagar, Gujarat was agreed upon.
