With the latest announcement, WhatsApp has “revealed that now users will be able to share their WhatsApp status automatically to Facebook stories if they turn on the auto share on Facebook option. This way, the company is giving users a convenient way to share status across Meta platforms while keeping users in control of sharing. Notably, WhatsApp has turned off sharing status on Facebook by default, but users can be enabled or disabled at any time by changing app settings.”

In the coming weeks the new feature ‘automatically share status on Facebook’, will be rolled out globally for all users. Once available the users can enable automatic Facebook sharing for their WhatsApp statuses with these simple steps:

  • Just share a story on WhatsApp just like you regularly do.
  • Once the story is shared you can set up an automatic option to share the same status on Facebook.
  • So tap on the option.
  • Now, once you have enabled it, the statuses will be shared on both platforms via WhatsApp.
  • Remember the same process can be used to disable facebook status sharing from WhatsApp.

In case users opt to share their status with Facebook, only the minimum data necessary is shared. All their messages will remain protected by end-to-end encryption and contacts and phone numbers will not be shared on Facebook,” mentioned India today.

“In other news, WhatsApp is reportedly developing a new feature that will allow users to send animated emojis. According to WAbeta.info, a site that tracks developments on WhatsApp, the new emoji feature is currently under development and has been included in the most recent desktop beta,” further wrote.
