Keeping the trend of making foolish statements intact, a lawmaker from the Samajwadi Party recently said that the coronavirus will “disappear” if Muslims are allowed to offer namaz in Mosques.
According to a report by TOI, Samajwadi Party MP Shafiqur Rahman also demanded that the shops must be opened in light of the Bakra Eid on in the first week of August.
He said, “We also demand that mosques be opened so than we can offer namaz twice a day during Eid. I believe that when we will apologise in the mosques, pray for coronavirus to end, God will listen to our prayers and the situation will improve.”

Public gatherings in India at religious places have been allowed by the government but in limited numbers. And despite the fact that the people are free to visit these religious places, many have chosen to be religious from the comfort of home owing to their responsibility towards the nation.
However, such statements only create blunder by guiding people in the wrong direction. Yes, God could help us to end the pandemic but it will only be possible if we help ourselves and the people around us. And that will happen when we maintain social distance and practice healthy and safe living habits.

Honestly, Rahman is not only the one to have come up with such a bizzare statement. A few days ago, West Bengal BJP President and Lok Sabha MP, Dilip Ghosh, recommended drinking cow urine to fight the virus.
