As a result of the increased number of pilgrims attending this year’s Char Dham yatra and the crowded highways leading to the four temples, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has directed officials to suspend offline registrations for the yatra till May 31.
He stated that there are security and convenience reasons for the transfer, but that devotees should also be encouraged to visit other locations in Uttarakhand that have mythical and religious importance.
Additionally, it was agreed to send pilgrims who arrived in Uttarakhand without registering for the yatra to other places of worship inside the state, should they choose to visit them.
The Chief Minister also gave authorities instructions to assess any inadequacies in the administration and planning of the Char Dham Yatra during the previous ten days and implement the necessary adjustments. He gave Anand Bardhan, the Additional Chief Secretary (ACS), instructions to compile a weekly report.
Together, the Wadhwani Effort for Sustainable Healthcare (WISH) Foundation and the Uttarakhand Health Department have announced the introduction of “eSwasthya Dham,” an effort designed to improve healthcare and monitoring systems for pilgrims travelling the Char Dham Yatra. This technology, which is integrated with the travel website’s current Char Dham Registration Portal, aims to provide pilgrims with easy access to their medical information.
Additionally, there will be health evaluation stations throughout the Char Dham path. The findings of these screenings will be reported on the “eSwasthya Dham” web app. According to Chief Secretary Radha Raturi, pilgrims visiting Char Dham who are older than fifty must get their health screened.
Since Shri Kedarnath Dham’s doors opened on May 10, the Char Dham Yatra has shattered previous records. The number of visits reached a record 3.19 lakh in just 11 days. On Monday, a record 37,480 devotees also paid a visit.
Throughout this year’s yatra, more than 1.38 lakh pilgrims have already visited Yamunori Dham, over 1.25 lakh have visited Gangotri Dham, and 1.39 lakh have visited Badrinath Dham.
